Operation of Machine
1. Introduction
The 16776 Bottle Case Packer and Robotic Palletizer was designed and manufactured by Bector Automation RML Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. for Encube.
Shrink-wrapped bottle bundles are received from the customer conveyor onto the infeed conveyor and transferred to the collation unit assembly. At the collation section, the bottle bundles are accurately arranged into the required matrix configuration. SCARA Robot 1 for Matrix handles the formed matrix and transfers it to the designated picking and filling position. The matrix is checked and controlled before being released for case packing. Rejected bundles or matrices are diverted through the gravity roller rejection conveyor.
In parallel, flat shippers are manually loaded into the shipper magazine. The shipper plucker picks individual shippers from the magazine and transfers them to the flap folding assembly. The shipper is erected, the flaps are folded, and the erected shipper is transferred to the bottom taping section for sealing preparation. The prepared shipper is then conveyed towards the filling station.
The layer boards are stored in the layer board magazine and supplied automatically as required. SCARA Robot 2 for Layer Board handles the layer boards and places them at the designated position during the palletizing process.
At the filling station, the accepted bottle bundle matrix is accurately picked and placed into the erected shipper by the automated matrix handling system. The filled shipper is then transferred for further processing. The top flaps are folded and sealed in the top taping section to securely close the shipper.
After top taping, the shipper is transferred through the rotary roller conveyor to the check weigher, where the weight of the completed shipper is verified. The pre-label applicator applies the required identification label to the shipper. The shipper then passes through the label applicator conveyor, where the required final label is applied at the designated location.
The labelled shipper is conveyed onto the powered roller conveyor for further transfer and verification. Any unacceptable or rejected shipper is diverted through the gravity roller rejection conveyor, while accepted shippers continue towards the palletizing section through the outfeed conveyor.
At the palletizing station, the accepted shippers are picked by the robotic palletizing system and placed onto the pallet according to the predefined pallet matrix pattern. The pallet locator and robot pallet locator ensure accurate pallet positioning and consistent palletizing. Once the pallet reaches the required quantity and pattern, the completed pallet is removed and an empty pallet is positioned for the next palletizing cycle.
The complete system is installed within a safety enclosure and incorporates the required guarding and safety arrangements to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous automated operation.
