1. Introduction

The 16808 Bottle Case Packer and Robotic Palletizer was designed and manufactured by Bector Automation RML Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. for Lupin Limited.

Shrink-wrapped bottle bundles are received from the customer conveyor onto the modular infeed conveyor. The bundles are then transferred to the collation conveyor using a pneumatically operated pusher cylinder.

At the collation conveyor, the bundles are arranged into the required matrix configuration. The formed matrix passes through the aggregation system, where scanning and verification are carried out. Accepted matrices are transferred to the picking station, while rejected matrices are diverted to the rejection bin using a pneumatic rejection mechanism.

In parallel, flat shippers are manually loaded into the magazine section. A plucker mechanism picks the shipper from the magazine and transfers it to the flap folding station. The shipper is erected, the flaps are folded using the flap-folding mechanism, and the shipper is transferred to the bottom taping unit for sealing preparation. The erected blank shipper is then conveyed to the filling station.

At the filling station, the accepted bottle bundle matrix is picked by the gantry system and accurately placed into the erected shipper. The filled shipper is then transferred onto the flat belt conveyor, where top taping of the shipper is carried out.

After taping, a label is applied at the corner of the shipper using the labelling applicator system. The loop-closing scanner then scans and verifies the shipper before further transfer.

The verified shipper is conveyed to the power roller conveyor. Rejected shippers are diverted onto the rejection conveyor using a pneumatic pusher cylinder, while accepted shippers proceed to the palletizing section.

Accepted shippers are picked by the robotic palletizing system and placed onto the pallet according to the predefined pallet matrix pattern. Once the pallet is filled, the safety guard is opened manually, the filled pallet is removed manually, and an empty pallet is positioned for the next cycle.
