The 16614 Sachet Cartonator Machine is designed and manufactured by Bector Automation RML Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. for Strides Pharma Inc. This fully automated packaging solution is engineered to deliver high-speed, precise, and flexible sachet cartoning operations with complete reliability. The process begins with an outer carton magazine that feeds cartons to a plucking and locking mechanism, followed by an automatic width adjustment according to the selected SKU. A secondary inner carton magazine performs a similar process, where inner cartons are simultaneously inserted into the outer carton using a dual-servo-based gantry system. The machine is equipped with a flap opener that accurately handles both major and minor flaps of the outer carton. Sachets are conveyed through an infeed conveyor, where their position and orientation are detected by a Basler acA1600-60gm industrial camera. Based on this vision data, three Omron Quattro delta robots perform synchronized high-speed pick-and-place operations, dynamically adjusting orientation to ensure precise sachet placement.

The system supports multiple SKU formats with varying capacities and production rates:

• 100s Singles: One outer carton with four inner cartons, each containing single sachets. The system fills 300 sachets per minute across 3 cartons using 3 robots.

• 30s Singles: 300 sachets per minute, with 30 sachets per carton.

• 14s Singles: 14 sachets per carton, achieving 168 sachets per minute.

Before sachet placement, a carton barcode scanner validates each carton’s barcode to ensure SKU correctness. The final stage includes a tucking assembly that secures all major and minor flaps, rejecting any improperly closed cartons before transferring the completed ones to the outfeed conveyor.

This project exemplifies the integration of robotics (Omron Quattro), machine vision (Basler acA1600-60gm), servo motion control, and barcode verification, resulting in a fully automated, SKU-adaptive, and error-free cartoning system that meets the high standards of modern pharmaceutical packaging.
